Breaking news ! Due to the mobile tea making device failing yet again,the Thumper will be running the service today ( Saturday 06-04-13 )to Eridge.

Yet saying BOX instead of diesel locomotive is acceptable?

 

I thought it was funny. Nowt wrong with a bit of friendly rivalry.

 

The gist of the OP is to put steam traction down as unreliable.

 

But also to inform of the diesel replacement service. I can understand the frustration if the loco has failed before. No need to get upset about it.

 

Here we go again. Yaaaaawnn. Having done plenty of steam, diesel and electrics it never fails to amuse me when people take the whole thing soooo seriously. It's absolutely fine to spit venom when a "box" fails and to spend the entire day of a rail tour whining about modern traction rather than enjoying the trip you are on. Yet as soon as someone has a bit of a laugh the bait is well and truly taken. It really is a joke - as in it is meant as one and the way it is received is one as well.

I HAD every intention of making use of the gen that has been posted, with an exit visa stamped awaiting the updating of the site. The steam is now out again and I will not spit venom and moan I cannot get a thumper fix, I will be happy that the railway will get more money from people who appreciate the Jinty more than myself.

The whole idea of the slightly jovial original post served it's purpose. The Spa Valley got some publicity, some steam fans MAY have been saved a wasted journey and three people I know had a thumper fix.

Relax a little. Please.

If you've had a humour by-pass operation in so far as kettles,opps,I mean LOCOMOTIVE a VAPEUR is concerned,why are you looking in the forum section that purely talks about "parrafin cans " ? Are you just here to be a troll ?
