I will be about close to home, for the first opportunity I have had to this year.

You may wish for a good dose of warm rain this week

I did venture out, but my efforts were (frankly) pathetic.

I'm going to smile and just blame the weather and being out of practise. Haven't been doing much photing for a while now.

I was out for it. Seemed on-time at Knighton and Knucklas and a little bit late at Llanwrytyd Wells. Drizzly, wet, grey day in Mid-Wales.

Thought I saw you at Knucklas Neil! Didn't get many pics as was mainly just following it, I was in the Blue Mini.

This trip was only my second time over the route and the first with steam. The weather wasn't kind on either occasion but it was heartening to see so many folk out and about either photographing or simply enjoying the spectacle. The performance of the steam locomotives was superb. I am sure they were accelerating up the climb to Sugar Loaf in what were probably difficult rail conditions. Later on there followed a blistering run up Stormy bank on the main line. Overall an example of main line steam at its best I think. It is good to see a few more steam runs are scheduled over this superb route where the smaller main line engines can really "have a go". On any trip I have had with a Black5 they always seem to give what is asked of them and a bit more.

I didn't realise I was that well known. Yes I remember seeing the car appear at Knucklas a couple of times. How far did you follow it?

Followed as far as Llandrindod as had to get off for a meeting elsewhere sadly. Managed to see it 3 times up the bank until it went Into the tunnel!
