Can't see a thread for this aside from the Braunton discussion. Times are now up at the always very much appreciated uksteaminfo (though year at top needs updating at time of writing this). To be hauled by 34067 Tangmere and departing Platform 2 at KX:

And, it seems with Stops at two very photogenic, attractive and authentic stations complete with signal box, Stamford and Oakham.

 

Off to KX for the second morning running. Blue sky in London at 6am. Clouding over a bit now but we're promised the hottest day of the year so far. About bloomin' time! Hope the light is kind for everyone out for this one.

Yeah, got it Steve. I'm not always an admirer of vids from a bridge (probably because I've tried a few times at Sonning Cutting where the bridge is about 3 miles up) but yours has come out really well...the 'racing' stretch gives plenty of time for observation. And I know Tangmere is not everyones' cup of tea, but good engine I reckon. ... Pete

Passed Hornsey a couple of minutes down on the return. There are some advantages to working nights!

 

Ok, the 6 million dollar question that no-one has broached, Why is Tangmere sporting the "London - Paris Night Ferry" headboard?

 

Thanks for that helpful and timely post Ian - and I like your shots at Kings Cross too, thanks for sharing.

 

Somewhat tenuous connection, but there is a tiny village called Whitwell near the line between Stamford and Oakham, which claims it is twinned with Paris!
