i followed the facebook link and all i saw waas an orange 3 not a black 5.....

 

45305?....going for wheel turning?

 

So 45305 chuffs to the KWVR on the rails but then gets lugged off to Ilford on a low loader. It makes no sense!

It's OK to post Facebook links but not everybody does Facebook including me. Is it possible to post the photo?

If it is going for tyre turning, it will need its rods, etc removing and then replacing. It is probably easier to do this at Haworth than in deepest Essex. It would also need re-weighing before being re-certified for NR running; again something more easily accomplished at home base. I'm sure that the logistics, time and costs have all been carefully considered. The NYMR sends its NR registered locos there by road for the above reasons.

But just because you have a particular preference it doesn't make it appropriate to copy someone else's material without their permission and host it somewhere else.

It has made the The Telegraph and Argus, the local paper, report has two photographs.

But someone needs to know the difference between a steam locomotive and a steam train.

 

At least they got the 'steam' bit right, which amazes me.
