    Very interesting, especially the Reading ones considering the state of the station now. Looks like one shows a Hymek rescuing a conked out Warship, in my day day that would of been a Reading Castle doing the rescuing. Saw that happen many times in the early 60's.

    Indeed, and it must have failed a way out west as it would have been a Western on west end pilot in those days

    Thanks for those! In particular pictures 1 & 4, looks something like me stood on the very right at the front of 6379. 5018 was bit of a favourite of mine, a fixture on station pilot duties.
    Made even more interesting now that Reading Station is being butchered beyond recognition.

    can only agree with you, that station was part of me growing up and there is not a lot left that is recognisable now.
