    Not heritage, I know, more like a blast from the past. However, some people might be interested to see some pictures of steam on the Rheine - Emden line in north-west Germany in 1973.

    Wonderful memories Ron. I did the line a couple of times in 1973. Boy, could those 012s shift!

    Spent many happy hours with Ranier (Kohl) watching 012s and had the privilege of a cab ride on 042097 and 012066 during those visits.

    The most amazing experience was being at Rheine for the last day of the 012s when not a diesel loco in sight then next day - not a steam loco in sight; the loco transfers had taken place overnight. In fairness there was one exception on the first diesel day when the railwaymen's day trip was organised to have 012.063 on the front - a final farewell.
