On the four track section from Harrow-On-Hill is the steam likely to run on the lines that run through the stations or the other two lines (I presume the LU equivalent of the fast lines) that don't go through platforms?

The 'art deco' specials last weekend with the 1938 tube stock and A stock looked as though they used the fast lines so I'm assuming this will too in order to keep it out the way of regular services.

It would make sense looking at the timings of the following Chiltern service which doesn't overtake the special at all despite making up nearly 10 minutes on it from a 15 minute head-start at Harrow, which I suspect it would were the special relegated to the "slow" lines.

9466 was in charge of the schools special today as seen in this video (not mine):

Looking forward to tomorrow. My Father and I will be heading to Chorleywood and Amersham to see two of the steam runs.

Three locos seems a bit excessive for a train of this length. I'm sure earlier Steam on the Met events only used two on each train.

Great day today. I will post pictures once I get a chance to go through them over the next couple of days. I started off by catching both late running stock movements from Ruislip depot in the morning at Eastcote Tube station (the light here is very good in the morning when the sun comes out). Caught L.150 at Chorleywood then travelled on the 12:00 train. Anyone know the reason why it was double headed? (Not that I'm complaining!) This was probably the highlight of the day as the Pannier sounded amazing accelerating out of Harrow and up to speed! Was even better when we overtook an S stock and the bemused faces of the general public... I must say the Prairie does look rather smart in LT livery, even if it isn't entirely accurate. Big thanks to all that are involved in running this though, I certainly enjoyed myself thoroughly.

One thing I would add was that a rumour going round at the end of the day was that Met No. 1 had been failed. Certainly they had swapped the Pannier and Met 1 round heading back to the depot and it was running about half hour late. Can anyone shed anymore light on this?

Also heard the rumour about Met No 1 while it was at Amersham in the late afternoon (see my earlier pics) but not seen any official word either way so far. As an aside, the public were said to have been "banned" from two of the platforms at Moor Park (on the right side for the sun re photographers). A fellow steam watcher who appeared to have been there for much of the day said he had been told by a member of LU staff it was because the BBC had a licence to film from there - the Hairy Bikers were filming their new BBC TV series on the Met this weekend to include footage of the steam excursions. Saw from their Twitter feed that they were around very early to light the fire on one of the engines but certainly were nowhere to be seen (at least at Moor Park) in the afternoon. So while two platforms were open to the public, the two platforms many would have wanted to position themselves on were closed for what looked like no good reason. Obviously London Underground can do as they see fit in these circumstances - it's their train set and station. But it did seem a great shame when the whole idea was to celebrate and spread good news about them. Has anyone come across that kind of situation before re a TV company filming? (And not being there!)

Well the running board, centre axel and rear poney truck was all covered in white metal so would say it certainly had some bearing issue! officals been very quiet about it tho, even crews :/

And, of course, none of this would happen without the skill and time of all those involved.
