No. 9 was on time through Dudswell (Berkhamsted). Photo in the gloom (and with rather too many wires) below.

On time Atherstone - a quick clip from my iPhone whilst working on the towpath today. Comment on loading at the end from a non-believer mate ...

OK I give up - how do I post an iphone video clip either from my PC or via FB plse?

Just seen elsewhere that the loco failed at Chester, don't panic, seems it was the 33 that expired whilst shunting the stock, UoSA had to come to the rescue.

Bugger bugger bugger! Lovely spot near Crick, glint shot, and it goes via Weedon! I was wondering why it seemed to have disappeared from RTT after Hilmorton Junc.

Surprised that there have been no comments about the 'Railway Touring Company' headboard.

Freight train failed at Long Buckby - nothing was going via Northampton towards London. Every platform at Rugby blocked once 60009 arrived in P2. Then surprisingly 60009 went first ahead of the pendos and 350s, but it turned out the pendo had failed! So it was all chaos at rugby and steam ended up going down the main line (for the first time in how long?)

I guess it's down to it being a "traditional style" one as opposed to one that looks likely to foul the loading gauge.

At the rate things are going today, 60009 will be the last thing standing on the WCML after all else has collapsed in a heap.

I can't recall anything going via Weedon, not even an overnight engine and coach move. First steam since 1965 possibly? Must've looked good pacing the traffic on the M1 at Watford Gap!
