    Great video.

What's the reason for using the crossover at Hampden Park instead of the one at Lewes (or even Newhaven as it's closer)?

I think it's down to not being in gauge at Newhaven as originally two year's ago Britannia was going to be berthed at Newhaven overnight then run up to Lewes the next morning. However when it was deemed out of gauge the decision was taken berth at Southall then run down to Hampden Park and use the cross-over before running back up to Lewes.

Looking on RTT it seems at Hounslow she was 20 mins down but by Kew East Junction she was only 8 mins down before getting to Willesden and being 18 mins down when she left. Any idea how she made that much time up before losing it at Willesden?

Well she spent nearly an hour at Haywards Heath according to RTT (I didn't noticehow long she was there really except that she left about 23:00pm) because she had to let quite a lot of service trains through including two that split. I have quite a few video clips because I kept thinking she would leave after the service train did.

But the Tornado Effect is still working as I've never seen Haywards Heath station car park so full of people before and most stayed for the whole time she was there.

Feel sorry for the crew though as they won't be getting back to Southall for quite a while yet and then she's out again on Sunday.

    Will post pictures tomorrow.

That's a fantastic video from Wivelsfield. The way you're looking down the line and then it appears into shot from the left. Superb!!

Quite a bit from our Sussex friends I note. I remember 70000 running the Lewes to Ely train. That was nearly two years ago. I am sure Tangmere ran to Eastbourne last December, Wednesday 12th. I filmed the train at Clapham Junction-Southern and the return at St. Mary Cray.

Yesterday I filmed Tornado running 6 minutes late passing South Acton on the North London Line. I filmed the return on the West London Line at Imperial Wharf. It was 19 minutes down and not working hard. Also had a Class 67 on the back. That may have been to drag the consist back from Lewes but I wonder if it was to do with fire risk.

    Clip No: 1

    Clip No: 2

Off to see Oliver Cromwell now.

"Yesterday I filmed Tornado running 6 minutes late passing South Acton..."

As you probably saw from the earlier pic, Barry, I was on the bridge. And also off now to see Oliver Cromwell.

it had the 67 on the back as it went past Wandsworth Road (Unusually on the through lines, and cut across the slow lines to factory junction).. but by the time I saw it again at Brentford it had lost it's 67.

LNER A1 Class 4-6-2 no 60163 Tornado heading the Steam Dreams Cathedrals Express, meets 34067 Tangmere on an ECS move to Southall at Tornados water stop at Chertsey.
    Caught 5 times here

1/ ECS move to Lewes at Keymer Junction, (1:27)
2/ Plumpton on the outwards leg (where it slowed because of an idiot on the crossing - if that's you you spoilt it for the rest of us), (4:37)
3/ A bridge outside Chertsey still on the outwards leg, (where it meets Tangmere) (6:07)
4/ West Byfleet on the return leg, (10:37)
5/ Horley near the end of its return leg. (12:30)

Pathing - To be able to use the crossover at Lewes a later path would be required for the ECS ,but this is not available because it is being used by a service train.
