Wouldn't be quite so noticeable if the vacuum reservoir cowling was painted black as well.

HI just noticed in the YouTube video which was good from acw71000, the brake rigging on the tender doesn't look right looks like only one side has brake blocks, has any one else notices this. fish7373 81c

Same as the ugly specimen on 5029, what will they have to carry next?

There is a path to Carnforth next Tuesday morning from Castleton. Ian Riley has confirmed on The Works that 34046 has 'worked faultlessly' and the test runs have been booked for next week.

Fingers crossed everything goes to plan!

I went to Ramsbottom on the ELR this afternoon to ride behind and photograph Braunton, and the train rolled in behind Class 47 D1501! I was told there was 'some problem' with the 'kettle' and D1501 was expected to be running the rest of the day's service. Needless to say, I went elsewhere.

I wonder what the chances are of it running tomorrow?

ELR website says they've pulled it from the line-up Saturday and Sunday, what's the problem?

34046 has worked faultlessly itself for the last three days on the ELR and the mainline test runs are now booked for next week.

I've heard that it developed a wheel flat, but maybe out later today (not on a service train) to carry out further tests. - note this is an unconfirmed report. Thanks, Steve.

With all the hot weather we are having. Does anyone know if a steam ban is in force in the Carnforth area?

    Thanks

45231 & 48151 are booked to run from Carnforth to York with ECS tomorrow so I don't think so.

Could the test be on Tuesday 16th? Braunton is booked into Carnforth early enough.

Doubt it ! WCRC will be looking to inspect the loco BEFORE initiating a test run thus expect Wednesday to be the earliest day to give a 24-hour window for inspection and correction.
