    I don't think any sensible person would think of moving a loco for the first time (or even other times) without a long length of clear track ahead or some decent brakes!

    76084 has moved to NNR today and should be reunited with her BR Mk2A tender this evening. This will allow the last loco into Sheringham to propeller her to Weybourne where she will enter the Paintshop to be paint in BR lined out black. A small party from the Restoration team have gone down to the NNR to assist in handing over the loco and helping out with some of the minor engineering jobs that remain.

    Running-in turns will follow then a launch into revenue-earning service. More of this on another occasion. 2013_6_9.jpg

    Brilliant work! Sorry if this has been mentioned already and I've missed it, but are you going to invite Phil Rollin's daughter to the unveiling ceremony? She probably has many memories of her Dad working on it in their garden!

    The family retained a shareholding in the locomotive and as such have been invited to the Rededication/Launch into Service (date yet to be announced). We will make special efforts to ensure they attend. Thanks for the suggestion.

    Yes, you are correct in your assumption. The NNR are short on motive power. 76084 sits in the Weybourne Engineering Facility in unlined black gloss (their painter is now on holiday for another week) whilst minor engineering tweaks are performed. Running-in will take place fairly soon so late July looks good for a return to traffic.

    Our Engineering Director took lots of photos of 76084's departure from Hepsott and arrival at Sheringham. We have put them into a short video to record the event.

    I sponsored brakes on 76084 so I hope so. One video does show a smartish stop. This is as 76084 came to the part where the track is now overgrown with grass which acted as a sanddrag!!

    76084 running-in on NNR going well. She will run for 2 or 3 days this week under various loadings then re-enter the paintshop at Weybourne for finishing off including numerals and lining ready for ..........

    The day every 76084 shareholder has wished for approaches. On Sunday 21 July at 13:30 at Holt 76084 will haul her first scheduled train in some 46 years. This first train will be a Shareholder's Special with a significant proportion of them being on board. 76084 will make 2 complete round trips of the North Norfolk Railway on the day then be put into regular service. The 76084 Locomotive Company Limited have always promised their shareholders that they would get to ride behind their loco on the first passenger service and with the kind assistance of the NNR we have managed to arrange this. Thank you to all who have helped us achieve her return to steam. (This is, of course, subject to availability but running-in is going well.)

    76084 Fact - built April 1957 at Horwich one of last to carry early BR crest before Horwich Works switched to the later totem. 76084 carried the early crest throughout her BR career.

    Please would someone clarify whether 76084 trains will be available to the public on Sunday or not?76084 website suggests 2 tsos available. Postings elsewhere regarding the use of 08772 shunt releasing of 76084 refers to the other train as ''the public train''.
    If 76084 and 08772 are available to the public NNR will have two passengers more than if they aren't, and with a not very nice 4 hour journey each way to get there, knowing in advance is essential.

    5 days to GO - 76084 fact - worked for BR for just over 10 years to July 57 withdrawn Dec 57. 76084 carried 3 overhead wire flashes on front steps 2 on righthand side looking from the front as image here shows - a fact that makes 76084 easily distinquishable in a crowd of the same class.
