Nunney Castle at speed with whistle screaming through a rain sodden Yatton station at 09:30 en route to Kingswear.
Ten chocolate and cream coaches in tow today. Steam has returned and normal service resumed!! <BJ>

I've just watched the video of this morning's event on a rather large TV. I must say how well the loco was powering through the station, how well it sounded and how well it was presented. Well done to all concerned. You appear to have a superb steam loco there now. <BJ>

Suddenly we all have the WOW factor back what with Clan Line without a diesel yesterday, Oliver Cromwell on its own to Weymouth today and now Nunney Castle doing as only a Castle can, racing pass the sea wall at Dawlish with not a "box" in sight.

No offence to diesel fans, but I promise you this. The thousands of steam fans throughout the UK are punching the air because those wretched "boxes" are left at the depots. The longer that remains the situation, the better.

All we need now is Braunton running and Britannia fixed.

It was quite impressive today to hear 5029 start out of weston today, from about 3 miles away, further down the line.

Nunney Castle arrived at Bristol TM at 20:06, just 60 secs before 70013 arrived at the station from Weymouth.
Just like the old days. Wonderful atmosphere. <BJ>

This is a video of Nunney leaving Weston Super Mare and Taunton. A feast for the ears :)

John Austin paints evocative paintings of Dawlish........the evening Torbay Express passed as a high tide resulted in a scene just like the ones Mr Austin paints!! Add terns and gulls on a high tide feeding frenzy and a kestrel directly over the railway and then Nunney ......

From what I have seen it looks like yesterdays Torbay may have been one of the best of all, there's only one 5029,and when it's on form, for me,there isn't much better. (and that's from an LNER fan!)

My footage from yesterday's run, looking superb through Teignmouth but sounding utterly fantastic through Torre!

Your're right. I decided at the last minute to book on this one and had a fantastic day. I had my head out of a droplite at the back of the first coach almost all the way from Paignton to Taunton. Brill! Couldn't believe they turned us out onto the main at Newton Abbot in front of the HST standing in the station. Scared the life out of half the passengers waiting for it at Exeter St D. and Tivvy Parkway.
