Absolutely inspired photography there David!! I think that you packed in the lot with this video sequence, what with the timeless pass at Galgate and the glints at Scorton - wonderful stuff.

The trek up Whernside must surely have increased your temperature and taxed your boiler, but that is a a superb piece of work - I assume the Dentdale sequence was taken from the same place. Of course, you will have to return in cooler days. If it's snowing, you'll need a troop of sherpas, but I'm sure that the final result will be stunning!!

I have my Dad to thank for the Galgate shot - one he has had in mind for some time (and the one at Smardale). Indeed the views of Dentdale were from the same camera position - about 300 yards north of the summit proper. You can get a slightly improved composition of Dentdale by walking further that way but at the expense of being on the main path and ever further from Ribblehead. I was dismayed that Rise Hill well and truly blocks any further views up Garsdale . Yes a winter scene with some clag would be rather nice - a 3.00 p.m. train with the sun well round and no wind preferably!

What are the likely motive power options for this week? Has any information leaked out yet? One Year WCR will be really lucky and have full use of the intended pool of locomotives without any of them having to drop out due to defects. At one level there is no real point in the pool system if an an engine could be relied upon to work the season without significant issues and the variety of traction or lack of it does not appear to be a factor with regard to this series of trains leastways for those travelling. The system does allow the earnings to be spread about more locomotive owners though, perhaps this is the real benefit.

 

Like when 5690 was the loco of choice?

Absolutely superb!! The colour saturation at Paythorne was so Scottish and the Selside panorama is stunning!! As for Noel below, must watch again.

You should have your chest puffed out and big grin on your boat race and a glass of something good in your hand, credit where credit is due!

I really enjoyed your efforts, ESPECIALLY the last sequence.................................................... sent a shiver up the spine.............................. I've seen the K4 several times but never had the pleasure of seeing her do what she does best - hill climbing like a crag rat!!!!!

So don't be humbled, be PROUD and pleased with yourself - I've watched what you post on here and do enjoy them but don't always feel the need to comment, just keep up the good work.
