Maybe wires are getting crossed at the Bluebell and 70013 Oliver Cromwell is attending the Bluebell gala?

Nice to see the loco's confirmed. There might be some contract work for 70000 and 60163 again (that was one of the reasons why they came together last time).

70000 was apparently promised after it was known it would not make the opening Gala.I heard in March.

Thanks Bean Counter and Duty Druid, I stand corrected as the brain cells are not what they used to be.

I thought it was Ollie which was supposed to be turning up? Have also heard rumours about Lamiel but that might just be wishful thinking.

I filmed one triple header for this back in 2011 -

So, are we up for a wee bet on which loco will lead this years potential triple move?

Lets hope the three visiting locos arrive at the MHR facing towards Alton. If the visiting locos end up facing towards Alresford I can't see to many places to photograph them.
One or two photographers asked on the Spring gala thread about the Alton section and asked what the line side vegetation is like. I reported back saying four or five piles of concrete slabs have been placed near Chawton woods in a classic photo location. I can now confirm that these piles are still there. So anyone hoping to photograph the three visiting locos from Chawton woods will be very disappointed.

Don't forget the locations between Alton & M4M are for the privileged few, Joe public is limited to the over bridges............................................. if they don't face Alton there's going to be a lot of unhappy punters!

OK, maybe not all of them will to "balance" things out, so maybe one out of two facing Alresford (as long as its not Braunton!) law of averages would suggest Britannia to face country. 60163 has faced that way on more than one occasion including the present visit, and don't forget the triple header last time round was to have had all three facing country, thank god the Guilford signaler cocked it up!

I would also think there would be some very unhappy privileged few if these loco end up facing Alresford. Even without the concrete piles the vegetation is well over grown in the Chawton wood area and won't make for a good photo. I'm hoping 34046 and 34007 are both facing the same direction.

    Exactly!

That's what I'm looking forward to. Bulleid superpower!

I hope the powers that be are listening, because if they don't....................................................................

As for the woods, who knows what will happen between now and then............................................... maybe no flailing is taking place at the mo because,a, we're running boxes and b, man power is needed elsewhere, i.e. getting the Alton re-signalling done before the deadline when the box is switched out!

After seeing locos changing over at Ropley on the diesel gala. It would be great if this idea could take place at the steam gala. This would allow people to photograph locos on shed. It would also be nice to have the chance to photograph all four bulleids together within Ropley yard.

Ps does anyone know if 92212 will be attending the gala

Might be a possiblity. 92212 is due to return to Ropley in October according to the programme from the East Grinstead Opening Gala peogramme and the S15 may be ready or close to being ready on the Bluebell by then. Also the Bluebell are changing the Giants of Steam event to a different theme so 92212 may not be needed as badly on the Bluebell.

L.150 is now scheduled to be on the line into the new year (bar a short trip away in September) so it may be a case that one returns and the other leaves

34007, 34046, 34051 would look nice but 34016 is looking somewhat "barryesque" unfortunately a little more than a bucket of paint is needed to make it presentable... How's the repaint of 34051 going ?

Still its been a while since a bulleid line up of 4...

It,s not at this moment in time though it is due inside the shed after the latest coach, (for the Watercress Belle), is completed.

Or instead of the Bulleids on shed how about just getting the N back in public view again...? Seemed the effort was put in to repainting it for last years gala but it's just been put back down the headshunt since then (unless it's been moved back?). I was surprised it wasn't even in view during the March gala. Considering 2014 is getting ever closer there wont be many more chances to have it on display.
