Small matters of a few electronic gizmos missing to allow it to run on Network Rail may have some relevance...

Are there any plans to use 60163 this weekend on the MHR to run her in after her maintenance?

None that I know of, she was cold in the yard yesterday, and unlike the photo posted on the A1 FB page taken from the yard at M4M, the photo below was taken lineside with full MHR PTS (I am a working member!) More likely she will have a few turns midweek before her move to the NNR!

Thanks for the info. I was going to come down tomorrow to see if she was running but will probably just go out to see her positioning run on Thursday as I can't make it down midweek.
I found a video on YouTube with Tornado running with a face on during the Thomas event which probably explains the missing smoke box number plate in your picture!

I probably wont bother with that, unless I know early on that the proposed box is either on the back or better still not there!!!!!

On that positioning move it will have a box at some point!
Guessing it is a DBS job too would expect the box throughout...

No fire in 60163 today but 73096 is now in Ropley yard before going to the great Dorset steam fair.

Ah, that explains a lot I did wonder what she was doing back in the yard yesterday!

Looks like 60163 is stuck at the MHR due to the current signalling work overrunning on the section of line from Farnham to Alton. SWT website says the Aldershot line will only be open as far as Farnham until the weekend. So the scheduled move Thursday is now on Saturday perhaps?

With any luck 60163 will work one of the service trains this weekend.

Hopefully she might as the A1 trust need to replace the hire fees they are going to lose from the NNR if she can't get to their Gala.

If its only signalling, then surely NR could manage pilot man working, assuming that a, it would be the "only" movement and b, they still do such things and c, they have a pilot man who knows the route............

Any signs of prep work on 60163 at Ropley for the move yet?

I for one hope it doesn't, I'm going to the NNR gala! (No disrespect towards the MHR intended). I think the move is still showing as going ahead on RTT but I couldn't find anything for a diesel loco to the Mid Hants so if it does still run I assume it'll attach elsewhere.

Does 60163 require a diesel escort for this move ?

Reported elsewhere, she's now officially stuck at the MHR, the A1 trust have had to pull her from the NNR gala, SO will she see some action over the alps this weekend, I wonder?

Thanks for the info. Won't set the alarm clock for tomorrow morning now! Sad news for the NNR Gala again after the incident at the previous one.

I hope the MHR website is updated with info if 60163 is used this weekend. I will be down for a few trips behind her if she is.
