I think it was going out via the Surry Hills after the visit to Sheffield Park. I really hope at least one railtour can carry the Blue Belle headboard. Whether its Tornado or one of the RTC trips.

It gets towed to East Croydon, it then sets off for London via. Redhill and Guildford. At least that was the original plan as I understood it.

    EDIT - beaten to it...

These look to be extras as opposed to regular scheduled trains, obviously they made a fair bit of extra wonga out of the cranks back in May!

Looking at the timetable its service 2. So the Crompton is running instead of steam, not in addition to it. Presume this is because 5521 is going on holiday in London, therefore not enough steam locos to operate 2 train service and the dining train.

Yes you're quite right, it appears from the Yahoo Group that the big 9 has been stopped for some work and the two larger Chatham beasties are on washout, hence the move.

This does show the value of keeping swordfish on the line I don't know how much longer it is going to stay as there is none of the spoil removal left.

I should imagine until such a point that there are enough steam locomotives to cover Bluebell requirements or until the hire agreement expires.

The "Bluebell" part of the timetable for the incoming charter with Tornado is here.

    http://www.bluebell-railway.co.uk/bluebell/pic2/wn/2013c/tues_11sep13.gif

SPL1 refers to Tornado / class 67 on Bluebell metals
SPL2 is an extra train on the timetable to allow passengers on the charter to have a trip on the line during the layover.
A is the regular Bluebell service train.

Edit: In the light of previous conversation, it does look like the timings of the first up service train have been slightly amended, with a longer layover at Kingscote and reduced run-round time at East Grinstead, to fit in with crossing the incoming charter.

Do you not think it a bit presumptuous on your part to speak for a man who, I would be more than willing to bet, you've never even seen, never mind met or even knew?

And once again, very easy to sit and snipe anonymously (and in terrible English) on an internet forum, things might not be this way if the staff were present to get the work moved on, so let's see you at 9am tomorrow morning in your overalls willing to muck in. Go on, dare you.

You see Chris, and as I know only too well, best to engage brain before opening your gob:)

Easily done though oh and by the way , there should be an "I" between on and dare, and you with a University education to boot:)

Where's the "round of applause" icon when you need it?
Whilst opening to EG was a realisation of one of Bernard's dreams, it seems as if it's a bit of a poisoned chalice at the moment.

Lots of discussion on the Bluebell Yahoo group about the 9F but in spite of the cause/causes supposedly being fairly common knowledge, nobody has seen fit to make an official announcement about it even in the most general of terms so your guess is as good as mine at the moment.

People come and go on Preserved Rlwys.
Railways have to move and grow with the times and if it is in a railway interest
to do X Y or Z then so be it.No matter who has gone in the past.

It HAS to be in the railways interest...
