Performed brilliantly yesterday on the photo charter. Shame it's time is almost up.

Just got back, first time visit and quite impressed for such a setup, will be returning for sure with the right occasion, the driving of the Austerities is somewhat "vocal" :D

    Pics to follow.

I couldn't attend this event for as long as I wanted to last weekend as my epic NYMR Diesel Gala to South Devon Gala via PBR with several work shifts from anywhere with wi-fi in between was a little bit too logistically ambitious... but I was really, really impressed with what I saw at Blaenavon. The gradients make for excellent entertainment, the choice of visiting locos was superb, and I love the location and the route to it. Fascinating place that looks like it will grow (and round off its remaining rough edges) in years to come. Shame the DEMU's leaving and I never had chance to experience it there actually.

Keen to get chance to come back for a more thorough explore sometime next year.

    Afternoon All,

By a stroke of luck, I was returning from a holiday in South Wales on the 14th September and it was only a minor deviation to call in at the P&BR on the way. I'm mighty glad that I did! I took lots of pictures and the first batch is now on Flickr. If anyone would like to have a look, here's the first one; clicking on it will enlarge it and take you to the others :

Hope that they are of interest.
