Well, this is all very confusing, the auction has ended so who are you negotiating with?

There are numerous other rail vehicles in that auction including several bogie bolsters (some look quite damaged), Barclay diesel locos, a Dogfish and a Shochood B, and some rail. I'm sure various preservation groups would be interested in some of these.

Mods perhaps all the posts re these cranes can be put in one thread rather than two?

The details of the scrappy are not in the other thread either! OK, so they have already saved the Dogfish - probably the most useful vehicle there. The Shochood B would be nice to save too (lot 12), it's a bit modified but so are the other survivors and I think there are only about 2 or 3 others left. Failing that it would be a useful source of parts.

For sale 2 mermaid ballast wagons, both unrestored, one better condition than the other but both restorable.
These wagons will be scraped very soon, this is a last attempt to save them from that fate.

Scrap value will secure. If interest please contact asap westernsigns@aol.com

Sorry to bump this but the two mermaid wagons are still available, due to work load (Santa trains) they were not moved/scraped.
Today they have been moved to horsehay yard so that transport to the scrap yard can be arranged early in the new year.

If you are interested you have until 6th jan 2014 to get in touch or they will be off to the scrap man the coming week

I can be contacted on westernsigns@aol.com

No, but dual - braked MkI FOs are going to be popular :)

Pity Car Services (UK) Ltd rarely if ever quite numbers. If they did potential purchasers would know whether to make further enquiries or not. Its a fair bet that the Mark 1s and Mark 2s belong to the Riviera Trains or an associate company. Wouldn't be surprised though if potential purchasers of the Mark 1 FOs have to agree not to use or make available for use on the National Network for 15 years.

A few years ago Mk 1 RMBs were like gold dust and fetching silly prices - I wonder if this is still the case.

C.A.R. probably won't shed any light on them. I contacted them regarding some previous coaches they had. They told me they had a preferential buyer for all mk1 stock, and I would be contacted once they knew what that buyer wanted, so they could advise me what was left. That was a long time ago. I didn't hear a word, yet several of the coaches continued to be for sale through them for some time.....

That's why I never count on a call-you-back, if you want something, you have to chase it.

No, and I've done similar. Pretty poor customer services!

I emailed them twice with a cc to the rest of my society's committee; so they knew I was being serious.

Still no reply which is very very annoying as we're really in need of a brake van!

I was considering calling but since you've left voicemail I highly doubt it'll work.

    What a shame :(
