A bit like the "good old days" of SLOA/David Ward when steam tours would start in London with modern traction and sometimes have less than 100 miles of steam. ;)

And if it's advertised as such I would approve. The RTC Cumbrian trips from London are a godsend for those who want to get a bit of Shap/S&C action without an overnight stay.

I personally would like to see more trips where we are whisked up to Manchester or Preston at high speed and then steam comes on to provide something enjoyable around the north. There's too much good stuff up there that could be made more accessible to us Southerners with a bit of planning. The Tin Bath comes to mind as just one example. Wake up RTC - there's an untapped market there.
