LMS boiler being scrapped ?

    This months steam railway has either an opportunistic discovery, or a substantial loss to the movement...

    Apparently a scrap yard in Nottingham has started disposing of a larger belpaire boiler of possible LMS origin. The mag hasn't been able establish from where the boiler has originated and is trying to discover, apparently the yard can't disclose details of the disposer.
    The only facts it discussed was that the boiler was a substantial one, and larger than an industrial.

    How much of a boiler might be the question... If it were actually just the barrel sans tube plates there's an obvious candidate.

    The SR article talks about a narrow copper firebox but of a size which implies it is from a 'main line' loco.
