Just heard that the Cheshireman railtour (running from Cleethorpes to Chester and back via the Hope Valley and Mid-Cheshire lines) is to be hauled by BR Britannia Class no 70013 Oliver Cromwell (after B1 61306 Mayflower was deemed unavailable for possible operational reasons).
I intend to see and film Cromwell pass Marple station with the excursion (or Disley Tunnel depending on the route).
Now I'm certain that 70013 is able to run along the Hope Valley line (70000 has done so behind a diesel), but is he eligible to run along the Mid-Cheshire Line?

I doubt a tour operator would advertise a tour with motive power not "gauged" for the route.

That's an assertion that I wouldn't put any money on! However, the RTC has recently confirmed in a specific mailing that 70013 will be the motive power so I think you can be more confident on this particular one.

Well are there any images (or any form of evidence) of any Britannia class member running along the Mid-Cheshire line?

Surprised no ones mentioned this today. Tour was on time at Meadowhall in fact maybe a couple of mins early. Sounded good and nothing diesel attatched to the back:rolleyes:
