35028 Bulmers Railway centre, Hereford - http://www.flickr.com/photos/martin289/5622869056/ Also worked on Breakvans rides their although I couldn't find a picture of that but I know that it did, hence why I asked which the other was, was waiting for someone to suggest Clan Line!!!
Afaik only 45599 hasn't ran on a preserved railway/centre on some form of passenger service in preservation.

On that basis, I suppose you could say that 5043 has also worked on a "preserved line" whenever it has been on a VT tour that started and/or finished at Tyseley Warwick Road. In which case, 35028 also worked on the East Somerset Railway when it did a Steam Dreams tour to Cranmore.

Did 45699 do brake van rides when it went to Shildon a few weeks ago, or was it just "posing"?

I really enjoy Tyseley open days , great to meet friends and the team at Tyseley , to see the show they put on and the progress in the workshops . Furness 20 will be fun to see and will make an interesting maroon line up with Peckett 2004 and 7752 L94

Hmmm! But they don't usually, if ever, let you into the workshop on the coaling stage do they?

There has to be some secrets, isn't that where the strategic reserve is being overhauled.

Joking apart. It would be interesting to know what was being overhauled and perhaps have the opportunity to at least be able to look in through an open door and see. Enquiries at the last open day suggested that Pannier 7760 may have been in there but was anything else.

Although advertised as 'Open Days' much of the site, particularly the coaling stage area is out of bounds so would it not be better advertising these events as 'Limited Public Access Days'!

Ah. But 5043 has been on the WSR - well from Norton to Bishops Lydeard at least.

I assume FR20 will be on the shuttles with the Pannier, but will Rood Ashton Hall and the Peckett get a turn too please? I'm fancying a trip down for this but my main interest is riding behind locos rather than photographing them these days.

Tyseley Loco Works Limited has no alternative but to operate as a commercial company in order to survive.

There is no engineering company in this land that will give you unfettered access to its premises. For instance I am particularly interested in Jaguar motor cars and whilst Jaguar are prepared to offer works tours to anyone interested in their cars, there are many areas that are out of bounds for very relevant reasons.

Those of us who have enjoyed tours around Jaguar willingly accept such constrains, so what exactly gives you the right to expect to look into every nook and cranny in our works?

    Regards

    Bob Meanley

I agree 100%, These guys work very hard so we can enjoy these loco's so why not respect their privacy? I personally think £10 is a bargain for what you get at their open days.

All railway enthusiasts are equal but some are more equal than others.

They have to hide the Grange somewhere away from prying eyes y'know ;)

Your not missing much if the coal stage shed is how I saw it a few years ago when it had two of the panniers stored in it, I reckon it might be where 5593 usually lives now as it's often nowhere to be seen on the lower level if not on display.
