Have to admit i'm rather disappointed 34046 only gets the one single solo run each day considering it's her first Southern line gala. Far too late for me to see or ride behind it as I'm travelling from Essex via train for the gala. Also notice no 925 on the Saturday.

Nice to see 60163 being left to its own devices for the gala. Have to agree with Kieran though its a shame 34046 only gets one single headed run a day. Who am I to complain though, my thanks to the Mid Hants for releasing the allocations before hand for free!

RETURN OF THE YELLOW PERIL -just seen the freight set passing the bottom of my garden and it includes the DayGlo Presflo - as well as the normal superb combination of vans etc as turned out by the Mid Hants wagon group.
Pity there are not more morning runs for Braunton solo, but nice to see more limited double heading - giveing the big locos a chance to work alittle harder!

I have to agree with you on that. Looks like the 15.55 departure from Alresford will be standing room only every day! Rather odd also that 925 is not in use on Saturday as I am sure there are people visiting on Saturday who were coming to see 925 in action.

Just wondering if another loco allocation will appear soon? Could be an idea to keep an eye on the MHR web site in case any amendments are made to the allocations.

I'm also disappointed that 34046 is double-heading during the morning. I am planning, weather permitting, to come over on the Saturday, with a view to photographing in the morning and travelling in the afternoon (am I the only member of this forum who hasn't managed any run - even on a heritage line - behind Tornado yet??) but 34046 was a big draw, and while I might squeeze onto its solo afternoon run, I would have liked to record it on film solo during the morning.

Conversely I've just noticed that 850 isn't out tomorrow. Standby loco's for Friday and Saturday perhaps?

Just read the following on the WTT for the gala weekend, the powers that be will be trying to ban ALL photography and video soon :(

Pretty standard stuff. Its ok to take pictures for your own use but if you set out to sell it then you need permission. Nothing wrong with that.

So that means all of you people who have ads on your videos on YouTube will just have to leave them out this time. I see no real problem.

Fair enough, it was something that I'd not seen before written on the WTT and just surprised me a bit with the threatening of legal action.

I think your going OTT on this. It's not aimed at the average photographer.

Bit of difference between some Youtube footage and the BBC, not that it would be policeable on the day anyway.

    Thanks for the heads up!!

Certainly seems a good opportunity to find a bargain Xmas present or stocking filler!! :)

Where on the station will these goodies be found?

Would be interesting to see how they would enforce that with Youtube as anyone can upload a video, then if it gets enough hits an option is given to add adverts so you can make a small amount of money out of the footage. Personally I don't do that as adverts before the video or these "pop-up" adverts in the middle of the footage is totally off putting.

I highly doubt that's worth their while going after, I suspect it's to stop someone like say the local news turning up for a bit of footage without asking, if big corporations fails miserably to shut down music video's on Youtube, the MHR going after vids with an add on would be futile.

The main gripe I have with those adds is they pop up 10 seconds in rather than at the start, meaning I have to click to get rid of them, then restart the video to stop them covering something interesting.
