It was in terrible conditions, I was at Scout Green, only my records show it as 2nd September.

Acton Bridge it was just raining, Scout Green it was pouring and blowing, but on the way back conditions did improve. I know that I got one comment from someone that the Scout Green shot was very poor as I should have kept the rain of the lens.....o_O
Excuse the slightly iffy camera work as well, this was my first year videoing and the technique needed improvement.

Thanks for that Ralph. The weather conditions were just as bad on the S & C that day. Shows what a Jubilee is capable of. A couple of years before this run Leander was at the Bluebell and it was not steaming well.
It is early days for Galatea and I look forward to her performing as well as Leander

Yes Ralph. Thanks from me as well for this clip to remind us what a Jubliee can do. As I've already said, it'll be good when Galatea has been tweaked up to Leander's standard. But it would be even better if we could have a double chimney Jubilee on the ML. Hurry back Bahamas!

Albert Seymour described that as his best ever run with steam in a recent interview and it is certainly mine, 5690 still holds my steam speed record! She was late leaving Crewe and soon set her intentions with running into the 80's before Warrington. After a blistering climb of Shap (the weather was horrendous as you can see from the videos!) the run down to Carlisle was just incredible and I think we were over half an hour early! I recorded a peak of 86.2mph just south of Penrith and I believe Bob Meanley later said it matched the old Caledonian timings, which would of had a Duchess or similar and a lighter load.. The return was just as lively, I remember much breaking on the run though the Lune Gorge and Oxenholme to keep her around the 80 mark! I doubt I will travel on another railtour quite like that one now, with all the black box recorders and closer monitoring, but it was a nice glimpse of what express steam used to be like and just what Jubilees are capable of.
