Yes they look very well - I saw one of their Sheffield fleet on a job out Wakefield way some moths back - was a really odd sight, being off its home patch.

Is there a simple way of viewing the whole garage on line, with their histories?

Makes me feel old, I've driven buses of that type, still got my PSV badge (BB62286) although my licence expired long ago.
When you're a driver with a young wife and a mortgage you'll do owt to earn a bit of extra money.

I'd struggle a bit to climb up into the saddle now. Although, a few weeks ago I managed the 5 steps (yes 5) up into a large Volvo that my lad was out road testing. Actually he was just trying to have a go at his poor old dad just to see if I could still mount up. "Road testing"??? he was sat in my house supping coffee.
Some of the old buses were great things, I passed my test on a GUY double decker, arthritic old Gardner engine and a 4 speed "crash" box. Starter was knackered so it took 3 of us with a rope on the starting handle to give it a good swing.
    Happy days.

I did my apprenticeship in restoring vintage buses. Not many 19 year olds (in 1997) who had mastered driving a back-to-front (chinese) crash gearbox! I grew up with the vintage buses, hence I now work in the rail industry...

Some friends of mine rented a single decker form this company for their wedding at the Darlington rail museum and I was impressed with the presentation of it. Incidentally, they were the first couple to be married at the museum (and have no interest in railways, just wanted somewhere with a local connections being proud Darlingtoniains).

I take it that it is a similar setup to this outfit in Kirkby Stephen.

They also have some regular timetabled runs.
Bit of a gathering of vintage buses at KS Station about 16.30 on a wednesday, I think, waiting for the Fellsman to pass through.

I do love the solid colours ie no metallic finishes, no ads, the smell of the engine......and the coachwork is to die for.......
