Just got the tickets (by e-mail) for this and RTC say it will be hauled by "Braunton" vice "Tangmere" with diesel between Eastbourne and Hastings; however UK Steam is saying 44871 (/45407) and no mention of a diesel......so which is it to be?

RTC website now states Braunton so has probably changed.UK Steam only mentions the steam legs - no reference to Eastbourne - Hastings.

It will need a DL Eastbourne to Hastings and no doubt it will stay on all day

I realise the train will be top & tailed but the thought did occur that it might be with the two Black Fives (probably unlikely). Quite happy if it is "Braunton" as it is required for haulage and I don't even mind the diesel as long as it is one of the class 33s :D

Had an e-mail earlier to say that this tour is now cancelled as 34046 is unavailable and there is
insufficient time to get a different loco cleared for the route :(

Pity about that. Although UK steam hasn't yet been updated, the tour has disappeared rm the RTC website.

    • From the RYTC website. <BJ>
    • ''Due to a failure with 34046 Braunton we have had no choice but to cancel the Christmas Sussex Belle. Unfortunately the failure can not be repaired in time for Wednesday's tour and there is not enough time to have clearance to run a suitable alternative. We are very sorry for the disappointment and inconvenience this cancellation will cause''.
