Can't find a thread for this one.
Was always going to be a risky strategy going for a sunny side shot with the wind veering to the SW at times. Needless to say it did just that when 4464 passed me between Langford and Biggleswade. A pity as the light was superb.

That's what you get for going out to watch sharp pointy things. Instead of a proper locomotive.

Looks to me like they fitted the TPO mail catcher and the bag has got stuck, or its a way of keeping the bubbly cold!

I dream of light like that but not with a southwesterly breeze. Could have gone for another silhouette but already done that there and with the same loco so chanced my luck in the sunny side.

That looks like the kitchen and the window has either been broken or is stuck down, so a sheet of something put over it to reduce the cold draft.

I have it on good authority that a window got broken, and frosty the snowman got half stuck in / out in a decompression accident. After it descended into Hertford and the pressure equalised they managed to drag him back in.

When was the schedule changed I wonder? The return didn't take water at Doncaster but at Retford. RTT is somewhat confused by this and hasn't picked up the quite long stop at Retford. Then add the late start due to a train failure between York and Doncaster.
I was a bit annoyed the conductor on 18:17 ex Retford HT service kept apologising for delay, due to following a steam train. Yes, the service was following a steam train until it was put inside at Carlton, but the delay I would say could be traced back to congestion following the earlier train failure. Although the change of water stop could confuse those trying to attribute delay.
