Just a quick update, today was the 9F and the U Boat.................. and seeing as how every other Loco has been winterised, I think it a safe bet that it will be those two up to Jan 1st! ;)

And as for the U being "nursed" I was chatting with the crew this morning, and they knew nothing of a dodgy fire arch................. (so somebody's been telling porkies.....) And she was certainly romping along solo today, Plus the trains today were well patronised, with a lot more re-enactors than usual for a boxing day. whether that has any thing to do with the predicted weather, who knows!

Thanks for the info. on the Christmas Leave event.

However, I had to abandon attending this event today as I had to rush my Father into hospital last night as his pulse suddenly shot up to 170 (seems to be a problem from scarring from his Bypass surgery in the summer). I spent most of last night and early hours this morning at Hospital or in bed at home and have been at the Hospital this evening. Fortunately he is doing well now. A big scare on Christmas Day though.

Sorry to hear about your father, Green Five, he's far more important than attending a railway "event", glad to know he's doing well and being well looked after, which must be the best Xmas present you could have.

I will post a link to a gallery at some point over the weekend!

Thanks Duty Druid. He is doing well. As you say he is far more important than a railway event and family health always comes before anything else. He was somewhat disappointed he also couldn't attend yesterday. I told him it really didn't matter! He is rather frustrated with the events he has missed this year due to his health problems. I try to persuade him often that his health is the most important thing!

    Thanks Lee.
Hopefully we will be at the Gala. Have to get Dad sorted out first though. Should find out on Monday what operation he requires.

9F and Lord Nelson running the service today, unassisted by any diesel.
Due to the bitterly cold but sunny blue sky, the steam and smoke would have been appreciated by the many trackside photographers seen between Alton and Four Marks.

Yes I nipped out to get a couple of snaps earlier on this afternoon. I think they've turned out quite well.

Nice photos Steve. All we need is for someone to do some line side clearance in the Chawton woods area.
