Pfft, who cares about any of that nonsense?

Now I think the 8F should be painted in...

Does anyone know if there is going to be a small exhibition about the bridge over the mainline anywhere during the Gala weekend ? I am guessing there will be something to see with the need for £600k to be raised. I am bringing my young nephew and he is most interested in the project.

Of course with a turntable and the usual demonstrations whether that will be true throughout is open to debate

Just read the article in the steam beano, GCR possibly turning out one of the Ivatt/Riddles 2mts in blue- that will raise a few eyebrows! Sorry for veering off topic again, it just made me chuckle with all the frothing going on about the incorrect colurschemes!

That'll put the cat amongst the pigeons. :)
Hasn't there been talk also of a Manor being turned out in BR blue?

I hope that's BR corporate blue with double arrows...
I could understand if it was light blue with a big number 2 on the tender, and a smily face

It is from the same article which I quoted in post 44 regarding the 8F. " He'd ( Bill Ford MD) like to see one of them painted blue.

If GCR did paint it blue, they would be quite close to the Thomas league... Need a Thomas, have a 2-6-0 as an Edward, 777 (nonsmoke deflectors ) as Henry.. N2 as Percy, red 8f as James, just need a Gordon next...

SDJR 8F surely is already doing a passable impression of Edward / Gordon?

Does anyone know whether the stairs up to the road bridge from the platforms at Quorn will be open? It's irritating to have to walk all the way round, but they never seem to be consistent as to whether they open them or not. Anyone got any ideas?

Whilst it would put an enthusiast in Terror.. if a railway did go whole hog and recreate sodor… that would be national TV every kid in the country would be wanting to go there.

Not sure the Thomas market is suck a stickler for accuracy - if you have a blue jinty and some faces, you've recreated Sodor!

And, to counter my own argument, a quote I heard from a young kid a few years back (at the GC, ironically), "We came when Thomas was here, but they weren't the real Thomas trains - they were just normal trains with faces on!" :D

The passenger timetables are available on the GCR website, will the roster be available in advance this time ?
