That's funny; I once pronounced it 'Keeley' until my mother corrected me.

And just to confuse matters, on the road above Haworth is a company called Howarth Industrial Saws! I presume it is or was run by someone called Howarth.

Was it due for a test run? It was given a steam test, but I was under the impression that there was still a fair bit of final fitting-out to do.

34092 observed this morning, (no time to call in, dogs need more urgent than mine)! Loco & tender fully glossed, tender & cab top lined (orange & black) Other side may well be finished but unable to see it, painting by Tim Hanson and as far as i'm aware lining by Peter Whittaker, Graham Bentley (part owner) seen topping up the tender prior to lighting today, I assume for a further steam test or maybe movement tomorrow?

Yes Andy it is me who is lining the loco out although I will not be back at 'work' in the loco shed until early next week. Tim Hanson is applying the green and should complete the job by the end of this week he is then to affix the tender crest and cabside numbers which we were awaiting delivery of from the manufacturers. Once I complete my task Tim will then varnish overall should be done within the next 2 - 3 weeks. As an aside check out the last job I did in the photograph below - 5029 in 5inch gauge! castle 2 mod.jpg

I remember seeing a video online of when City of Wells was tracked on a parallel line by an engineers coach and a Class 33 in the Sherborne area. This was part of Gerald Daniels' steam initiatives out of Salisbury a while back. Does anyone know where it can now be found if it still exists?

I remember the film. There was a lovely story that the 33 slowed to let Wells overtake for a sort "runpast". The intention was then to open up and overtake. Simple given the 33 had only one coach right? Wrong, the crew on the Bullied had other ideas, and eventually had to be asked to ease up a little as the 33 on full power wasn't making much of an in road on the distance between the two. May be someone here will know how true that is....

I've got the film hidden away on VHS somewhere(no idea where though!). I think the "story" by 21B could be true, you can hear some live commentary on the tape if I recall.
