    I've looked.

On Saturday 15th, Darlington to Shildon around xx.50 each hour except a two hour gap between 10.54 and 12.54.

Coming back hourly around xx28 / xx.30, except no train between 11.30 and 13.30 and irregular after 17.30.

    Hope this helps

Peter, at the end of a cold but sunny afternoon in Manchester

Thanks but I'm going on the Monday and there's nothing extra late in the evening by the looks of it.

Cheers Anthony. The 21:00 gets me back home rather late and the 19:00 is rather early. Plan is to get bus/taxi to connect with 20:47 ex Darlington. A lift would be most helpful.

I came close to booking for one of the early morning events but had to waver as there was a chance I wouldn't be in the country that week while we sorted out who we were sending overseas for work. By the time we'd decided I'd definitely be staying at base and therefore free to pop to Shildon on the first weekend, all the extra sessions were fully booked so I'll miss out. A shame, but hey ho, I'm still pleased I'll get a last chance to see the two 'holidaying' A4s before they head back overseas and I'll make a weekend of it and pop past Stainmore, KWVR and the East Lancs on my way back south-westwards. I don't think it's totally selfish to want a few pics with relatively clear shots of the A4s in whatever positions they're in, so I will try to get there early in the morning so I can be towards the front of the queue for when doors open to the public.

I just wondered if there will be any additional car parking or a Park and ride will be set up for the event? I see from the parking diagram on the NRM website that the old factory site next door to NRM Shildon will be in use as an overflow car park, but will there be anything else in addition to the normal car parks located at the Soho end of the site. I just wondered as demand is likely to be extremely heavy with most of the parking probably taken up by attendees of the early morning events before the museum formally opens at 9.30am for an event like this. Shildon is not exactly a big place.
    Thanks in advance.
    Anne

I have two tickets for the 8a.m. photo shoot on Wednesday 19th. feb ( Face value £15 each) and two tickets for the free talk in the lecture hall the same day, about the repatriation and cosmetic restoration of N0s. 8&10.

Due to a double family bereavement I am now unable to attend, thus these tickets are available to any interested parties. Please P.M. me if interested.

One other quick question if I may. The times quoted on the NRM website for the main event are 09.30 - 17.00. Is 17.00 kicking-out time or last admission?
Going on Thursday, looks like I might get to 'cab' Mallard. Although failing that, I'll be the person looking intently at the Speedfreight Conflat. Hopefully the crowds will leave it alone! :)
    Thanks,
    Phil

17:00 is "kicking out time" so that scenario can be prepared for the night shoots

    "Cambrian Coast Express" ?
    "The Royal Scot" ?
    "Pines Express" ?
    "Stephenson Locomotive Society" ?

...at least if you've only been raiding York it's safe to say the "Ann Summers Express" board is still hanging at Pendre!

The problem with photos at York on the 'ordinary' days was it was not possible to get into a position to take a shot of all 6 - too many people around on the ground and nowhere to get a shot from higher. Going to Shildon but not with great hopes.

couldnt we just send back 2 fibreglass copies, and keep both originals? or are the engines on display the copies and the originals are locked away at the back of York and Shildon, awaiting repairs and a return to steam:)
