At the very least, a couple of clandestine boiler swaps should be on the cards o_O

I realise you're not wanting your images pirated but the massive © in the middle is really off putting. Good post above though.

Thanks, I try to keep the copyright mark so its not too intrusive, but have been told my pictures are good and well framed, but that others have tried to take them off the site before. Its sad, but its needed.

Meanwhile, I'm going tomorrow night and look forward to putting a name to a face!

In a word - superb. Well done to Anthony and his team. Some treasured memories from the night shoot and well worth the expense of attending.

    I also had a brilliant night too. What made it more special was a number of things;

    1. Firstly the staff at Locomotion - really freindly, considerate and couldnt do enough to please everyone. Was fantastic to see everyone appriciating the effort they put in by being curteous and respectful.
    2. The enthusiasts and photographers, there - helpful, appriciative and polite to each other so as not to get in everyones way. Thinking of others before themselves and allowing everyone a chance to get their shot. A few times people worked around each other and we all tried to help.
    3. Martin for his advice and experience in helping with the shoot. Will be great to see his work after all this...
    4. The support crews of the engines themselves. Keeping the main engines in light steam and staffed during the week to ensure the event runs well. Others being staffed by those from the NRM and Freinds of the NRM.

So now, what youve all been waiting for.... the line up of all 6 A4s from the photoshoot....

    Enjoy!

Thank you for this David, and yes you are right the shot of all the A4's lined up together in the classic pose is the one I have dreamed of seeing since this whole project first got going. For me the stuff dreams are made of. Next thing to look forward to is welcoming 4489 back to Exporail again.
    Cheers,
    Peter.

Firstly a very very big thank you to Anthony , Richard and everyone involved at Shildon . It was a very enjoyable evening

Also really good to meet David and Martyn as well as catching up with Ian as well . Just to Echo Davids point , everyone of the photographers was impeccably behaved and a thank you to all. There was almost a reverential atmosphere

The adrenaline ran out at 2pm this morning by which time I was safely home and pictures will follow

The picture that says it all. A sight I never thought I'd see and almost certainly will never see again so a big "thank you" to everyone who made this happen. To the detractors and those who said it was a waste of money - if this sight doesn't stir your soul then you probably don't have one.

I'm sure someone will find a reason to complain that they aren't lined up in numerical order / construction order / pantone shade / alphabetical by driver's surname / by measured level of wear on inside big end / ... <sigh>

    Cracking photo though....

If you take their BR number from L-R it's 60007, 60008, 60009, 60010, 60019 and 60022 so a numerical order of sorts. I like the big end wear criteria though, an idea for future lineups. Thanks for your comment.

Gobsmacking shot - I'm sure there are others like myself that now wish we'd booked on the event!

IMG_7446b.jpg I can only add to what people have already said, but after last night you really cannot top it, I feel privileged to be one of the few who can keep memories of 6 a4's side by side and will probably not see again in a lot of people's life time. This is surely the best 90 that has been spent by myself for a single event and will not be topped! I would like to thank martin and all of the nrm staff, especially Anthony coulis who arranged the headboards and was kind enough with other staff to move posts or wiring or fences out of the way so that we could get our shots. I have converted a few but the second best for me has to be the glint shot with the reflection of Dwight in the puddle side on shot. IT IS AWESOME and glad you noticed it Mr Creese :)

All in all a great show and well worth the trip from BRUM, enjoyed it that much I was back for more this morning when they were prepping the locos.

    Brilliant!

Thanks for the kind words peeps. For someone whose first memory of steam is a journey behind 60014, last night was rather special. Martin (Sidmouth) remarked that the atmosphere was almost reverential. He's not wrong and we were certainly in the presence of greatness. If only we could keep all six in this country.

A-ma-zing pics, panic now setting in now the end is nigh. And the rain actually enhanced the shots

Agree about the rain. Amazingly a couple of seasoned veterans packed their bags and left the moment the first drop fell.
