After seeing these photos, I can't wait for tomorrow.

Out of interest, how visible is Bodmin in the headshunt from either the platform or car park?

    See post #275 (I think...)

Pretty visible from the look of it.

Don't forget that 35003 also did 105 mph that week as well. I was on the 103/104 mph run with Clan Line in December 1966. I think only 3 of us were, myself, Terry Jackson and Alan Wild. I regard that as being the best of my 6 tons with Bulleids because it was a decent lad (10+1 for 365 tons) and because it took place just after the foot of the slight dip after Winchfield at Palelane. I had a big debate with Alan Wild about the actual top speed and the estimated IHP which was very close to 3,000, a very high figure indeed for a MN

Snatched a few fots this pm but the sun went almost as soon as I got there.

Will be there again tomorrow with son Tim, but limited time only as wife is in hospital with a severe eye infection and must visit at some stage pm.

I came up on the first train from Medstead so was only there for the run round. Surprisingly few right at the end of the platform.

Chessie, from a driving point of view, is Clan line any different to can Pac? i noticed in some of the pics that even though she's in vacuum mode the air pump exhaust was visable at the back of the tender, does she need the air up even when using vacuum?

I wasn't driving 35028, I had 34007 am, 34046 pm. The air pump was operating on 34046, but I drove it on the vac.

It's not the best screenshot anyone will ever take, but I hope the video will make up for it! I was set up rather awkwardly in the cattle dock - had I been at the end of the cattle dock, I would've probably had a better view!

A small collection of photos from me : -http://paulsimpson.zenfolio.com/p1005009848

The 9:30 ex Alresford( 35028) was not as busy as I expected , after seeing the number of cars in the carpark at Ropley at 9:30 ( I was in the 5tth row, usually I am in the 2nd although I was slightly later than usual).
I took the 13:30 from Alresdford as far as Ropley ( also 35028) and it was heaving. Best run of the day was the 15:35 from Alton behind Braunton.
Very enjoyable day, and with 35028 and 34046 running 3 full line solo return trips the day was easier to plan thst previous Galas.
When we were delayed at Medstead on the 9:30 due to points failure at Alton, the guard and the platform staff made everyone aware the reason for delay.

Excellent day out the MHR, good to see the trains full and the weather was lovely, apart from the blustery wind which masked that elegant Bullied beat ! Video to follow tomorrow. Regards, Liam
