There has been a very slow start to the re-opening of the line. A DMU is employed to run between Weston SM and Taunton. All other services run via Westbury or are replaced by buses. If you are planning to travel over the line to view the flood damage this weekend be aware that Realtime Trains indicates the service returning to a bus . <BJ>

XC services shown in RTT as via Castle Cary ARE going via Bridgwater with some v early arrivals ESP in Taunton. With HST in use on at least 2 trains a day you can view the affected stretches of track clearly!
However, that is it! The first direct fairly fast from Exeter to Bristol( to Aberdeen) is 09.23. If you are lucky you get to Bristol in time to get the preceding XC train to Birmingham......
Weekend travel remains a challenge but overall things are getting better but I confess I will go to York for the Whitby steam train via London rather than battle with weekend north of Taunton after the bus from Dawlish!

Thanks for the info Ray. I see what you mean about the 09:23 Exeter-Aberdeen service.

It departed from Exeter on time, arrived early at Bristol and then had to sit for 40 mins for the booked departure time.
At least the trains are running again and will hopefully return to a normal service in the not too distant future. <BJ>
