    I 'm for the coaling tower myself.

    Who would ever have thought the shiny one would cost more than the grubby one to repair, and yet the grubby one went to the knackers yard to be stripped.

    At least this is (or will be) a line up that can be recreated with the original locomotives. And the grubby one, as it was much more advanced....

    Interesting comparison. One is a three cylinder loco that, despite a partisan following, was rather disappointing and heavy on coal when built, and only really showed its potential after an expensive and extensive programme of modification.

    The other is a Bulleid West Country...

    As in the picture I prefer 34007. Now if it had been 60103 as withdrawn, then it would have to be 60103.
