35 delay at Dover with injector trouble. Got going again but has been stopped at Folkestone with further problems. Messages received by gallery members suggesting possible failure ?

Right - ta for that I am at Dunton Green was hoping to get it working up the grade - light would have been marginal if it were on time - if its going to be hours down I'll fold I think

Two injectors failing? That's unusual. On the other hand if you run steam through them all the time without any water then that's how they might fail. (Just thinking aloud folks and definitely not making a smart comment about the crew).

Sad news about the failure. Hope it's not too serious and the passengers can get back to Tyseley okay.

And if Braunton cannot take the train any further, this location is sadly about as far away from the VT rescue diesel as possible. Not what anyone wants.

This service was cancelled between Folkestone Central and Solihull due to a problem with a steam locomotive (ME).

Well, that narrows it down a bit doesn't it!

Very sad that the decent attempt to bring the trainload down from Birmingham to Kent, with steam around the Garden of England, should encounter such a problem.

Fingers crossed it is not going to be a really bad delay for all on board.

I guess so. Taking over at Hanwell so that's where it has to come from. 2 hour delay I would guess.

    Odd,
the thread started off ribbing about injections
and ended up talking about injectors
perhaps the nurse ( the injector) should have gone along

Indeed so. It is a somewhat baffling failure assuming that the info is correct. Both are live steam injectors so whilst one might be problematic ( and I can think of another celebrated Bulleid for whom this was an intermittent problem until fixed) it must have been serious for the crew to decide that they could not continue with the other one, especially in view of the distance from Hanwell/Southall

    Thanks.
Filmed the return at Guston Tunnel but she was travelling so slowly it was't worth uploading.

Hope the diesel can rescue them, otherwise it could end up been very costly for VT.

Doesn't help the folk from Solihull though as I guess they have to wait for the VT Class 47 unless you mean that everyone has had to find their own way home?
