Due to the lack of time on PDSR for servicing 60007, the plan I believe is for diesel assistance from Paignton to Churston. 60007 then comes off to go and turn, back to Paignton for servicing, before going LE to Kingswear to work the return. The 25 will work solo from Churston to Kingswear. First chance to see D7535 in its new coat of paint?

 

I would imagine it will be a similar sort of arrangement to that when 60163 Tornado came down last September on the Cathedrals with a lot of shunting at Goodrington by putting the 25 behind Tornado and then running to Churston. In total 60007 has about just over 2 hours on the line to be turned and serviced.

 

Does anyone happen to know whether this tour is sold out or not ?

I can't do the whole trip, but could be tempted to negotiate a POTD single from Taunton to Kingswear, or the same in reverse to allow a bit of photography as well, : )

Hi all - going to head out to take some pics of this tomorrow - never taken pictures along dawlish before, can anyone recommend a good place to catch '07 going past ?

 

UKSteam Times appear to be 1 hour out Kingswear-Dawlish Warren compared to what's on SD, but they agree thereafter. Possibly a cut-and-paste mistake.

At 22:00 this evening a Portsmouth-Cardiff service lost 1 min between Warminster and Westbury. In the opposite direction a service train was delayed by 28 mins. This may have been because of the transfer of passengers by bus. <BJ>

That would be the easy way of doing it, and anyway, they tend to push you towards buying an "advertised price" ticket. If the train has empty space the day it leaves it's originating station, there's always a chance of negotiating a price for a single leg somewhere in the itinerary if that makes sense ? That's been my experience anyway, : )

Sounds like it's fully booked anyway so will probably have to remain contented just to photograph it, : (

Good luck if you're still hoping. Sometimes people who've booked don't turn up for some reason and many tours have intermediate stops near the end for peoole who want a bit of 'culture'. If you can get on at Westbury or Taunton, then you'll get Whiteball.

My wife had already booked us for a matinee at the theatre this afternoon (which I'm sure I'll enjoy), so had to pass on this one. Another chance on 19th.
