Some real steam locomotion shall start on my side of the pond w/NKP 765 hitting the rails of Norfolk Southern this weekend. Fast freights are what these s-2 Berkshires were about back in the steam era.

We should have swapped "Dwight D" for that.......................might have had the odd gauging problem though! :D

Thanks for finding those Mike, but I would have thought that with all the wide open spaces, the guy who took the second one could have been in a better place that did not have those tank cars in the middle of his shot.o_O

I thought those tank cars made the composition interesting. That is even though not being a fan of tank cars these days. They are uglier than in the past.

Next Weekend the Nickel Plate Berk shall be pulling a couple of trains between Chicago and Argos, Indiana on her home turf.

Looking for some of the good ones from today, just one 2 runbys for today, more for tomorrow I imagine

You can believe it has been great seeing 765 with no box. She is the first one in awhile that has gone solo with train alone.

Locomotives from the Lima Locomotive Works are my favourites.

I'm not that fussy, british diesels, believe it or not are more aesthetically pleasing than huge modern American locomotives.
After Today's run 765 shall be returning to Fort Wayne for a few weeks before her next outing in June.

It would look good run with an A-B-A set of E Units :) but the S-2s didn't really need much assistance in the past. Must get my MTH one out sometime for a bit of noise :)
