When I spoke to the support crew at Shap summit loop they told me Gordon had gone back to Carnforth for a class 37 that then passed me near Scout Green so I wonder if the 37 attached to the front from there as when I went back the five had gone but oddly a few of the coaches were still left in the loop .

Maybe, but that RTT link suggests a West Coast diesel en route from Craigentinny to Carlisle was stopped at Beattock to assist. Perhaps there's two diesels on it now, with a third to come on at Craigendoran!

5043 ran a light engine today from Tyseley to Plymouth, in ended being something like 106 mins EARLY arriving a Plymouth. I missed it at as a result, does anyone know why a light engine would gain so much time time?

Because she ran through virtually non stop the waiting times at various points that was scheduled into the run didn't happen, hence the massive early arrival time, sometimes this happens with positioning moves, and she wouldn't have wanted to stop to take water as she had the water carrier with her.

Been informed that 45231 was still in the loop at Shap summit last night for some strange reason . 45231 now on way back to Carnforth as I type and passed Tebay 16-15 presumably with a 37 doing the honours .

Any more news yet of 45231? If the valve setting and steam leaks had been even half as bad when she was leaving Carnforth as they sound on the video at Shap summit, WCR surely would have stopped and gone straight back into the depot. So maybe something came loose on the way?

Uk steam shows it left shap summit down siding on Sunday 11th returning to Carnforth hauled by a diesel along with the pob.
Meanwhile the Riley duo has been detailed to go to fw after their Cath ex duties.

Saw a video on youtube of its move at Acton ML, couldn't find any times for Southall - West Hampsted. I think it turned at west Hampsted at about 15:30 earlier before heading out on the MML.
