Assume 5972 has a restricted licence in terms of how and when it can be used publicly as it would seem to be a big draw potential otherwise.

Info from Carnforth gives 44932,46115,45690 ( when ready ) and 45699 as the motive power for 2014 .

Where's 48151 going then? surely they need to give that a few runs this year too, especially since it had a test run on Tuesday.

Not sure about 48151 as this was the loco list I was given from a very creditable source at Carnforth .

And no mention of the K4 either? Quite a long list of reserves if you add in 45305 as theoretically "available in the north" during the summer.
Who knows too if 45212 and 35018 might emerge in the near future?

As I say its only the list I was given with neither 48151 or the K4 on it mind you the 8f is limited to 50 mph so that could be one reason for it not being on the list .

Agree about being 8f 50mph. I think that the k4 may not show up in July possibly because of the MNR gala. Finally w/45212 Wouldn't Mr. Riley be up w/ his locos in Fort William?

5 days to go before the first departure, I really hope Galatea gets to take the 1st one.

I'm afraid this season is for linesiders; 2014 is fully booked and 2015 bookings are now being taken.

Is the GWR saloon being used this year? Pretty sure I read something about it moving away from Carnforth a bit back. Can't see any mention of it on the Stateman Rail web site.

Managed to get seats on the first one but had to book in January.
A great and deserved commercial success for all involved.
Presume the 8f is back in the frame as well now 44932 is "on supply work".

Does anyone know what is being steamed up tomorrow. I'm praying for the Scott or Galatea. Tangmere would be a great surprise though.

What's wrong with 48151? That's one of the loco's I wanted to see on the Fellsman along with 5972 and 5690.

I lean toward the Jubilees and the Scot. It probably doesn't matter to joe public. my opinion though is with all the Fellsman trains being sold out put a locomotive at the front of the train that is colourful. Passengers won't forget about what they rode behind should a Galatea, Scots Guardsmen, Leander be the power.
It is just a railfan thing for me.
