On a similar vein, a recent IanVisits blog suggests that steam could return to the East London Line, now part of the Overground.

"Subject to all the boxes being ticked, all the paperwork being signed and the contracts agreed… then next year they hope to run a steam train around the London Overground. And yes, through the Thames Tunnel.

So keep an eye out for that exceptional event, hopefully in 2015."

Now that would be truly remarkable.

This is slightly confusing as Sarah Siddons isn't mentioned an any of trains 1 to 4 but is in the script

It looks instead of replacing what was on the page before today (Steam at Chesham end, Sarah at London end) they have added the current plan (L150 at Chesham end, Met 1 at London end) after it.

However as Sarah is still mentioned in the added details I'm guessing the train will be something along the lines of L150, Sarah Siddons, Chesham set, 353, Milk Van & Met 1. With Sarah assisting when necessary.

The atmosphere in the Underground stations should be great, shows real confidence to repeat the Moorgate trips on Saturdays in mid-summer, and throughout the day rather than late evening.

Well, due to the annual summer burn-out affecting the mainline steam scene, I thought that as I'm in London throughout August undertaking archival research on most weekdays, I felt that a useable Saturday in the archive and the £60 cost notwithstanding, it would be rude not to do a H&C 150 trip. I have therefore booked on 14:25 ex-Moorgate on 2 August. It will be nice to do something completely different.

Presumably the "inbound" from Northfields will switch from the Piccadilly to District tracks just west or east of Acton Town?

My understanding is that the train will be on the outside track between Northfields & Acton Town and go onto the District Line just before Acton Town

Just arrived at Moorgate, 22 late. Fair bit of noise from Met 1, even in the back coach. Sarah hasn't done a lot of work, just assisted away from stations a few times.

I'm visible in the second clip :) First coach, second compo behind Sarah Siddons.

A good morning on the underground. A fair bit of new steam track. Good to hear Met 1 had had the valve timings set up at last, she sounds very good now.
