34046, no that's not a typo! Sat platform 1 at Kings Cross ready for the off. Rumour is injector problems with 60019.

No wonder it's running early then - a Southern beast eating up the miles on LNER territory?

Waiting at Arlesey for its imminent fly by

Thank goodness that Braunton was available & cleared for the route - well done to all concerned, & I hope that Bittern is back to full health very soon

After days of nice sunny mornings we get the typical "GN steam weather," dull and grey. 34046 near Sandy.[IMG]34046 by KING COBRA 92, on Flickr

Well, I'm "hoping" fingers crossed that the sun puts in an appearance for the return this evening...................

If it does, then when 34046 gets to Welham Green (please be on time...) I should stand a chance of a nice glint shot.......

I imagine the dull weather was Sir Nigel expressing his displeasure at Messrs Bulleid and Jarvis daring to have one of their machines on his railway today.

Possibly but we get the dull stuff even if it's one of Sir Nigel's finest running. I reckon it's the Swindon lot casting a curse because they never built anything as good as Gresley or Bulleid.

Hmm, that's a thought. I think the sun should still be above the industrial estate, just! I'll probably go to Wymondley, good chance of a glint there. Still overcast in Sandy at the moment, but plenty of time for it to clear.

They've already got their own back though by having A4s painted in GWR livery. Yuck!

Except 5043 of course, but I suppose a lot of that is down to Bob Meanley and the guys at Tyseley
