I can think of two reasons.

It appears ex works so could have been a re dedication event.

A prosaic answer is that it had been employed to bring the empties in to save a path and was right way round for its next booked service

35006 - wonderful! I recall seeing this loco just after its arrival in 1983. It looked rather different then, no tender for a start. In fact, I took a photo.

It seems really quiet on Port Line. Last I heard was when 35005 and 35027 swapped tenders.

Yea I do get the impression that she will just one day roll out off Bury and go straight into steam tests.

    Hi everyone,

I've looked around the forum but I can't find any latest info on 34067. I've been told that 34067 has been stopped for a issue with the tender tank. Can anyone confirm this for me.

    Thanks

With next year being the 75th Anniversary of the Battle of Britain anyone in favour of a gathering BoB Bulleids.

34053, 34067, 34070 will be in steam next year and 34051 should have her cosmetic restoration finished plus any potential returns for others (34059, 34072 and 34081 as possible outsiders by September 2015)

Leaking thermic syphon was posted elsewhere and back to Carnforth for repair about 10 days ago. Not expected to take long apparently.

Aren't the Hosking Bulleids waiting for the new workshop at Crewe to be ready for the 35027 overhaul to recommence there?

According to the current and previous edition of Platform 5's book Preserved locomotives of British Railways it states that when west country light pacific 34010 Sidmouth is restored to operational it wont carry that identity but will be done up as 34109 Sir Trafford Leigh Mallory any truth behind this or not.

This tale dates from (20?) years ago. It's not the view of anyone currently involved in SLL.
