Actually I'm concentrating on driving.............. and because of the way the 'sign' on the Railway Arms stands out, your eyes get drawn to it - thus missing The Railway...

 

I was impressed by this one, on the old Stamford Bridge station in N Yorks

 

I'm pretty sure that bad railway pub signs used to be a regular feature in Railway Magazine? I personally have a lovely enamel picture at home with an A4 that's been converted to a 2-8-0 I believe!

 

Surbiton Station, Surrey (on the SR Main line to Southampton and Portsmouth)

 

Looks like this one has the right wheel arrangement at least.

Unlike the Station In in Knebworth when it had Mallard on the pub sign. It was numbered 468.

 

looks like it's been mated with a Voyager.

 

I guess you'll miss The Railway now anyway, as it's closed down.
The sign has been saved though, currently mounted in the RAT Bar.

 

Both in Kidderminster:
The Railway Bell Hotel has what appears to be a GNR large Atlantic in LNER blue (which doesn't sound a likely livery), while the Station Inn has a Midland single

And both are next to a GWR line...

 

Yes, I did notice it today, its now an emporium for home furnishings......

Still, the pub sign keeps the "Child Catcher" happy, on "his R.A.T"!!

 

To be fair… this is to most "normals" a very common (at least as common as you can get in todays age) of steam locomotive seen in Surbiton in recent years..
4464 has done much of the honours in that part of the world.

I would have taken a shot of it in it's new location yesterday, but I only had my phone, so it wouldn't have been publishable.

I remember that one from when I was a kid, thankfully the Great Western in Acock's Green meets the standard I demand with a 2 cylinder Swindon 4-6-0

And the last one................ looks like the gauging train hasn't been through in a while!!

 

There's nowt wrong with an A4 on Pullman's!

Just go and spray paint over the name.............................

 

Someone has done a nicely accurate portrayal of "Royal Scot", complete with misaligned frames and comedy livery ...
