When you wake up tomorrow you might have a more sensible idea.
Have a look on a few loco restoration websites & see how much it costs to buy & restore a loco. (More than a couple of thousand)

Go straight to bed. Try to remember the last time you met a happy loco owner, which you won't have done. If you are not feeling better in the morning, call your GP for an urgent referral to the local psychiatric unit. You will be in good hands and they will keep you safe until this awfulness passes. If your GP is unavailable, try the Samaritans.

In 1983, the going rate for an engine from Woodhams Yard at Barry was between £6,000 to £10,000 depending on size. If you can find someone who would sell even a Barry wreck, you could probably add a 0 to those prices . Now add transport to wherever you are going to do the restoration, say £5,000, and then start work. Depending on what type of loco you have bought, what is missing and how common the parts are, the cost of restoration could be circa £300,000 with mostly unpaid labour. However, if you are going to make use of professional restorers, you can probably double the restoration cost. Then, when you finish, you have 10 years max to find the money to overhaul it.........

If you are 24, as I once was, and enjoy a physical job, may I suggest one of these:

Ah well TLD, if you like the fuller figure, and there's nowt wrong with that, then there's the absolutely awesome Anna weather lady. She did the weather report tonight but I can't remember anything about the weather to be honest. I guess she could suck a golf ball through a garden hose....

Rather than where his interests lie, I'm more amazed that a 24 year old might have the kind of cash for buying and restoring a Barry wreck!

If he does, bravo, wealthy individuals will only get rarer now.
If not, then I will kindly sit back and allow others to post their pictures of the above creatures ;)
