    Isn't 34039 a possible 2017 candidate?

Would make a fairly epic gala! What's the greatest number of Bulleid's that have appeared in steam together post 1967? The Bluebell had four some years ago; has anyone had more than that in steam simultaneously?

Probably unlikely for 2015 now, but rather more likely for 2016 - still within your timescale though. Usual caveats apply.

Actually, Heritage Railway suggested late 2015 for completion after I mis-read the latest "Moorsline" and quoted that - Moorsline actually said end of 2014. Steam Railway's Official must have made the same mistake as me, or perhaps they just lifted the date from the Heritage Railway piece! It wouldn't be the first time.

Edit : sorry, should have made it clear this is in reference to 34101.

We could have a very good gathering of Bulleids in 2017 and if you have a static show at Eastleigh which is being talked about you could add 34051 into the mix as a static exhibit.

Possibly. No overhaul updates on the owning group's website since 2012, but the bottom end looks good on some of the pictures elsewhere on the site. It would be good to see Boscastle in action by 2017.

Hmmmm.. looks like another trip to Yorkshire before too long, especially if the S15 is back in action as well!

You may think that, but the official line is "end of 2014". It's more believable than 80135 for Easter 2015 though!

The S15 is currently said to be 2016, so there's going to be a bit of a wait if you want to see both that and 34101together, and as 30926's overhaul is probably going out to contract by 2016 you might stand a chance of all three!

Eastleigh works could be the place to be in 2017! Whitsun Bank Holiday weekend for 3 very special open days? Steam-hauled trains from Alresford, Swanage and Sheffield Park on Sat, Sun and Mon?? Shuttles from the station into the works top-and-tailed by 30053 and 41312??? Stranger things have happened...

35005 will probably still be in Eastleigh works so we could even recreate a Merchant Navy getting a major overhaul.

Lets wait and see eh?.... Lets wait and see what the HLF can do for the ole girl... Mind you if all is given the go-ahead then I reckon in 2 years she could be there or abouts....
There is nothing more I would love to see than Can-Pac in her Prime looking supreme and strutting her stuff from all cylinders...

I was working on the logic of her not being ready in the time (hopefully we get the HLF grant) so she would look like something being repaired in the works like in the BR days. Would make an interesting sight next to the working Bulleids.

The colour in which we relaunch 34081 next year has been decided.

That was suggested by some of our members back in the 1980s.

Well that's my tenner on Caledonian Blue gone then. Seriously - good to hear that things are ticking over with 81.
