Away on time from Victoria for the circular route via Shalford. Couple of phone grab shots below, far from perfect in overcast conditions, but at least it records it!

The drab conditions actually make the shots look more authentic that the overly shiny shots we normally see of this loco and train.

True. I need to invest in a decent camera though at some point.

A suitably less shiny Clan Line in drab conditions at Egham for you then.

    No diesel on the back.....

I don't think Mr. Dobbin will be impressed with possibly favourable treatment of DBS & VSOE!

Now then. I have now seen Mr knowwon in the flesh so to speak! I too was at Egham yesterday (I am the guy filming from the platform in the rather smart striped shirt!!) and I was explaining to the gathering of ladies that a steam train on the Orient Express was about to come through and they commented that "bloke at the end of the platform with a tri-pod" must be there to film it. One lady said it couldn't be the Orient Express because the Orient was in the opposite direction. Bless.

Very odd to think that I was going to chat with you and ask if your post clips on National Preservation. But alas, I had to get back to the office. Had I known you were Mr Knowwon I would have congratulated on you your superb steam clips. I would rather like to have told you so to your face. But I guess doing it on here is will do for now.

why thank you for your kind comment sir, most gratifying - I would have let you buy me a beer in the nearby hostelry, but i would have made you change that sartorial disaster of a shirt first.
