Well, how that (presumably quite small relative to 5,000 plus members) proportion of the membership who have attempted to communicate with the WSRA 'management' might be feeling.

The difficulty is that the vast majority of the WSRA membership will not have made any attempt to communicate with 'the management', will not have experienced any difficulty, and so will not share our perception. That is where consensus, at least as far as the difficulties are concerned, amongst the external candidates is important, if we are to bring change. Fortunately, in a way, this behaviour continues and can be raised at the AGM on Saturday.

    kind regards

Opting to receive an electronic copy rather than a paper copy would probably save the Association the cost of postage only. As Tiffer mentioned earlier, a very large proportion of the cost is preparing the content and layout ready for printing. The cost difference between printing 1500 copies and 2000 copies (say) will be quite small, and might be offset by the extra cost of creating an electronic version and distributing that.

Reading postings in both WSR threads I get the impression that it might be easier to get negotiations and agreements in Syria, Iraq, Israel/Palestine and other world hotspots that with the WSRA! [IMG]

Remember that after the last General Election we entered a period of negotiation in which the Lib Dems were being courted by both Brown and Cameron, and the Lib Dems gave away such fundamentals of their manifesto as free university places for a seat in government. 'Real politik' usually takes over when the electoral dust settles.

    kind regards

    P.S.
Your 'head banging' emoticon did make me smile - could you explain to me in a 'conversation' where it comes from. Is there one of two heads being banged together?

The new trustees do not have to negotiate their right to be on the board, they are there by vote.We see a degree of consensus already, and pledges to involve the membership at large in WSRA future and changes in Articles.
The biggest problem will be the remaining old guard if they refuse to stand down, followed by knowing what is unknown.Lets get through this week without an outbreak of pettiness from any candidate or their agent.

Thanks so much for that. :D I think all we candidates need to look at this every once in a while to remind ourselves what the effect of NOT getting things sorted might mean.

For a little while I have had in my head the quotation from George Orwell's 1984 (that's book, not a Mark 1 CK :)) in mind...... "If you want a picture of the future, imagine a boot stamping on a human face forever..."

    kind regards

A nice simile for now -a quasi 1984 officer elite issuing propaganda to its squaddies on its war with another group, and the successes it will have on the planned invasion.Big brother might be watching us- Hi there!!!

In a paraphrase of JFK " Think not what White can do for your votes but what your votes can do for White" :):)

Great humour, thanks folks - a much better way to approach Saturday if we can.:)

To paraphrase JFK again (if I may). Think what White can do with your votes for you.

I'm not sure the '1984' analogy should be pursued too far other than to remind ourselves of what awaits us if we don't get things sorted. I have in mind 'the daily hate', folks disappearing and being expunged from history etc etc.

    kind regards

It will need more than one to deal with the present lot .To really effect change,WSRAMAG will be needed as well.

    >>>NEWS LATEST......Peacekeepers move into Bishops Lydeard.......

Have you been watching Farscape then? I always knew there was a wormhole somewhere near Stogumber.

I note from the news that Cameron is busy chucking out the old men and bringing in the younger women. Sounds like a couple of candidates for Sat then are onto a good thing...:)

On the Journal issue, whilst I respect the preferences of others, I do not wish to see the end of the printed form. I like to be able to get my Journal off the shelf and read a bit more as/when the mood takes me, not when I've got 20 mins to wait for my PC to boot-up, Windows to finish updating, browser to load, broadband to finish winding its clockwork, and then.....oh s*d it, I've fallen asleep Zzzzzzzzz.........

If that is the case, they're doing it wrong.

Most of the time, it's a couple of clicks, if that, to get an emailable version from print-ready.
