Both the Tornado and Chesham set moves are being done by DCR, I understand the latter involves borrowing one or more EDs. Logistically it makes sense to tie the two moves together so you only end up with one train onto Bluebell infrastructure and one train out, but if the Tornado move is delayed for whatever reason this plan would change (either separate trains on different days or the whole plan gets put back by x days).

Best to keep an eye on RTT and see if any paths get activated. Must be very frustrating trying to move vehicles across the network with all the variables to consider!

    Regards,

    Dan

If I am reading that right 005T refers to the run from Tonbridge West Yard to East Grinstead - not Swanage Railway related

Pity about (a) fire risk and (b) 60163 not slgned up with WCRC otherwise it could have worked at least part of its passage from Swanage to Sheffield Park by sharing the honours with 44932 on today's DCE

It looks like the two moves are going to stay separate then. Chesham set at East Grinstead sidings 20:18, Ruislip Depot 00.05.

005t cancelled. Whilst it was Tonbridge - E Grinstead it was running via Willesden, where it had a one hour stop, so looked like it was picking op something before going on to EG. Imaterial now.

Last Bluebell down service from EG today is dep 16:30, arrive 16:40 at Kingscote. That probably means the two diesels won't be free to progress onto Bluebell metals (allowing time for the token to be taken by road from Kingscote back to East Grinstead in order to release the ground frame) before about 17.10ish. I assume in the meantime, the two 73s can sit in the interconnecting track for about an hour without blocking access to the mainline station for the regular passnger trains.

    Tom,
I have never thought of the Chesham set as a Diesel Multiple Unit but thats the description in RTT

    Dave

p.s. What about a station masters token instrument at EG. The SVR has one at Arley for P Way to start trains (trolies) when long section Bewdley Highley in use

Well, "pathed" as a DMU, but running as "empty coaching stock", and hauled by a freight company!

Re signalling at East Grinstead: I'm sure all sorts of things are possible in the future, but whether they would be cost effective for fairly occasional traffic to / from the mainline is another question! The L frame installation at Kingscote has reserved 20 levers for possible future signalling at East Grinstead, but without a detailed design having been worked out, let alone planned. In the meantime, it is one engine in steam (or fumes) and the token has to be taken from Kingscote to East Grinstead by road, hence the relatively protracted times to get a service onto or off the railway.
