I travelled on the 3rd run.Outwood Met 1 assited Sarah Siddons a way from some Stations, while on the return Met 1 was working hard (I had to shake the soot off my trousers). My photos can be found here http://paulsimpson.zenfolio.com/p767522416. There wre some people in period costume traveelling on the train. A Golden RT was outside Hammersmith tube station.

I need to co-ordinate all of you so I can cut together a film of the complete run. KIP (Knownwun Independent Productions) can't pay wages or royalties but I am sure you'll all do it for the love of the sport. (and my advertising stream - I need a new & better camera)

Was I just unlucky or was Met No1 not giving read-end assistance away from the underground stations? She was certainly working when at the front, Kings Cross was absolutely full of smoke after one departure which passengers were told was 'normal' and not to worry!

Gave assistance on departure from Moorgate and a couple of other stations.

Was on the 14:25 run and Sarah only shoved out of Hammersmith; the rest was Met 1. Was in the last compartment, and when Sarah is working, one knows it!

There was the occasional push on the Northfields - Moorgate run, but Met 1 was doing the clear majority of the work. Lovely bark from the engine and always great to see the look on peoples faces as we pass through each station. There was a couple in our compartment who live in Northfields and booked on the steam train because all the tickets for Aldwych station tours had sold out.

So glad it was allowed to run after all the signalling problems yesterday morning. Still pinching myself that we can run a wooden bodied train, essentially from the 1890's, with a similar vintage steam engine at one end and the world's oldest working electric loco at the other, through the centre of London. Long may it continue to be possible and a big thanks to all the people to make it so, LU and volunteers!

    Regards,

    Dan

It's actually Met No1 shoving from the rear I missed, it was fantastic to see and hear her opened up through the platforms at Kings Cross and Baker Street when on the back last year but it was a wonderful spectacle nonetheless.

Does anybody know if this latest series of FBU strikes is likely to affect the operations on 9th and 16th? They are 12 noon each day 9th through to 16th August. Not sure of the status of track ownership, especially on the joint lines. Is it the dreaded NR?

I believe that the track used is TfL owned.

EDIT: I'm guessing that for the 16th as Sarah Siddons will be in the formation anyway, she will be assisting.

I was under the impression the ban is in relation to lack of emergency water provision e.g. the Braunton injector issue at Folkestone required the Fire Brigade to top the tender up. Emergency water provision is available from the Metropolitan Milk Van, so should be fine in that respect, and beaters are carried on the Chesham set and fire extinguishers in the van to deal with lineside fires.

The heritage ops team were working on the train in Northfields today and everything seems to be going ahead on Saturday.

    Regards,

    Dan

According to the official web site it's L150 the other end.

The official site states in paragraphs 3 & 4 of the Chesham info (ignoring paragraphs 1 & 2 as that is the old info, which for some reason hasn't been removed):
My understanding based on that quote and the timetable info below it is L150 at the Chesham end and Met 1 at the London end, with Sarah Siddons, the Chesham set, 353 and the milk van inbetween them, although not necessary in that order. The official site could be wrong but I haven't seen anything to contradict it.
